Assistant Professor – Construction Management/Civil Engineering

Eastern Michigan University's Construction Management (CM) and Civil Engineering (CE) Programs in the School of Visual and Built Environments, the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology seek applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in fall 2023. The EMU Construction Management Program includes an ACCE-accredited Bachelor's degree in Construction Management and a Master's degree in Construction Management, and as well as a college-wide Ph.D. in Technology with a concentration in Construction Management. The graduate and undergraduate programs focus on residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and civil/heavy/highway/infrastructure facilities. The Michigan construction industry actively supports EMU's efforts in curriculum development, student job placement, and accreditation.
The EMU Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering prepares students for productive careers in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Analysis and Design, Transportation Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Environmental, Water and Wastewater Engineering, Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, Transportation, and Materials Engineering.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in construction management/civil engineering, student advising, active engagement in scholarly activity and research, and providing service to the Construction Management and/or Civil Engineering programs, school, college, and university. Key services include lab oversight, participation and support of the assessment and accreditation activities and process, leading our student competition teams, participation in alumni and professional associations, and events such as our annual career fair, golf-outing, and guest speaker series. In addition, the candidate will contribute to ACEE/ABET accreditations. Potential for program leadership exists.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between EMU and the EMU Chapter of the American Association of University Professors, which contains and settles all matters about wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
Preferred Qualifications and Credentials:
