Assistant Professor – Digital Media Production and Film Studies

Eastern Michigan University’s school of Communication, Media and Theatre Arts located in the College of Arts & Sciences seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position to begin Fall 2023.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to teach a variety of Media Production courses at the undergraduate level. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach courses in:

• Multi-cam studio production
• Single Cam/remote production
• Live event webcasting production
• Post-production
• Multi-media reporting

The candidate may be called upon to teach introductory film studies and/or media theory courses as needed. A background in these disciplines is a plus.

Preference will be given to candidates who provide evidence of significant achievement in professional or creative work, successful teaching, scholarship, and the ability to create additional courses related to the candidate’s experience and interests. Evidence of service activity is desirable.
 
Minimum Requirements:

Candidates should have a PhD or terminal degree in Media. A strong aptitude for developing production activities outside the classroom and professional outreach is required.
