General Summary

EMU OT program is seeking a Part-Time Lecturer to co-teach in the OT Assessment and Intervention in Pediatrics course in the Fall, 2025 semester.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The instructor will collaborate with fellow course instructors to design teach methods for evaluating occupational performance issues in children from birth through adolescence, with an emphasis on conditions that affect development and participation. Instruction will include analysis of environmental, cultural, and social influences on occupational performance, as well as the application of critical thinking skills to develop intervention plans grounded in theoretical and evidence-based approaches.

In addition, the instructor will be expected to fulfill standard faculty obligations, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of scheduled class times, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing those materials to the school as required, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with Eastern Michigan University’s academic calendar. The instructor must be available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (though not necessarily all three days each week), from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., from the last week of August through mid-December 2025.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must have a Master’s degree or above.
  • The candidate must be a licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Michigan.
  • The candidate must have experience working with pediatric clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years OT practice experience is preferred.
  • Prior experience with teaching / clinical supervision of Occupational Therapy students is preferred.
