The Department of Psychology at Eastern Michigan University announces an opening for a Full-Time Lecturer position to begin Fall 2023. Candidates must have their MS or PhD in psychology (or related field, e.g., Neuroscience) at the start of hire. We are specifically seeking a candidate with expertise in the biological underpinnings of behavior as well as the ability to teach a series of undergraduate research methods courses. The ideal candidate would be prepared to teach courses in some or all of the following: undergraduate Sensation and Perception, Physiological Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, and both introductory and advanced Research Methods courses.  The teaching load for the position is 15 CUs a semester, which may include a combination of single and double section courses.  Candidates must demonstrate evidence of strong teaching skills. The successful applicant will receive a yearly contract (renewable on a year-by-year basis for 2 years, then a three-year basis thereafter). The Psychology Department has MS programs in General Clinical, Clinical-Behavioral, and Experimental Psychology, an APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program, and approximately 900 undergraduate majors. The EMU campus is located in Ypsilanti, conveniently five miles from downtown Ann Arbor, 17 miles from Metro Airport, and 35 miles west of Detroit, MI.
