General Summary
The role of the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology (GACET) Graduate Assistant Advisor (GA) is to assist academic advisors on individual and group advising initiatives. The GA must be able to work a minimum of twenty (20) daytime hours, Monday-Friday, on-campus. Some weekends and evenings may also be required. Although the GA’s assignments will largely be determined by the needs of the office at the given time, every effort will be made to match GA’s interests, skills, experience, and abilities with the appropriate and desired tasks.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications:
Have an interest in serving students in a higher education setting
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Ability to take initiative and exhibit independent judgment
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom
Excellent organizational skills; capable of multitasking effectively
Demonstrate level of competency in public relations, customer service, and communication
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Energetic, proactive, and service-driven
Ability to work up to 20 hours per week (10 for 50%) is required GPA of 3.0 or higher is required Admission and enrollment in a graduate program is required Maintenance of a 67% course completion is required Enrollment in at least 6 credits for Fall and Winter semesters is required.
With the guidance of one or more staff or faculty members, perform a mixture of services in support of communication, technology, business operations or student affairs activities as more than 50% of their service. The Staff Graduate Assistant receives a stipend and tuition waiver subject to federal tax.
