General Summary

Eastern Michigan University’s GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology (GACET) is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Engineer position to support/ lead research efforts in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in cybersecurity.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Work independently with cross-functional teams to develop research activities in AI, cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things (IoT), leading to soliciting and securing externally funded research and publishing peer-reviewed articles.
Utilize basic knowledge of software development principles, including the use of tools such as Java, REST, XML, and C++, to solicit support for providing technical guidance to external entities or companies.
Work with students, staff, faculty members, and other professionals from industry. The candidate will deliver research artifacts that can be used in providing a robust cybersecurity landscape.
Collaborate with students and faculty in engineering, computer science, or closely related fields in a university setting to support/lead projects and write proposals.
Help deliver senior projects, research projects, and funded consultations with organizations related to the security of embedded systems.
Utilize Computer Science and cybersecurity principles to research problems and provide solutions that arise in the area of AI and cybersecurity.
Work with other staff/faculty to disseminate knowledge gained through publications in established journals or conference proceedings in the area of AI and Cybersecurity.

Minimum Qualifications:

A doctorate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field is required.
Knowledge of state-of-the-art tools, equipment (motors, motor controllers, and PID controls), and preferred sensors (LiDAR and RADAR) is required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with state-of-the-art models for AI, IoT, or the security of embedded systems is preferred.
