General Summary

With the guidance of one or more staff or faculty members, perform a mixture of services in support of communication, technology, business operations or student affairs activities as more than 50% of their service. The Staff Graduate Assistant receives a stipend and tuition waiver subject to federal tax.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

In consultation with one or more staff or faculty members, assist in the support of the affairs of a program, department, office and/or curriculum.
Other departmental related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to work up to 20 hours per week (10 for 50%) is required.
GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
Admission and enrollment in a graduate program is required.
Maintenance of a 67% course completion is required.
Enrollment in at least 6 credits for Fall and Winter semesters is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Admission to an EMU graduate program in COET, Computer
Science (CSC), Computer Information Systems (CIS), or Geographic
Information Systems (GIS).
Experience with interactive reporting tools such as Tableau or PowerBI is preferred.
Strong understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.
Adequate writing and verbal skills are needed.
Proficiency in developing web applications with server-side scripting languages such as PHP, and client-side languages such as Java Script.
Some quantitative background is highly desired.
