General Summary
Advise and counsel a caseload of students on academic achievement and program curriculum requirements; supervise team of peer-led instructors.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of academic coaching and counseling and at-risk student populations (first-year, Pell-eligible, first-generation, etc.), typically acquired through the completion of a master's degree in college student counseling or student affairs.
Two (2) years of experience in an academic support and/or counseling-related environment, is necessary.
Written and interpersonal communication skills, in order to effectively interact with students, are necessary.
Personal computer knowledge is necessary
Ability to perform physically active work of a light nature including occasional lifting requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force to transport materials and equipment may be necessary depending on area of assignment
Previous experience providing knowledge of academic areas of assignment may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional counseling licensure is desirable.
Three (3) years of experience teaching first-year seminar is desirable.
