General Summary
Evaluate and post transfer credit for newly admitted and current EMU students.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Provide tabulation and posting of transfer credit for both international and domestic students from defined and undefined institutions, as well as alternative credit sources (i.e. AP, CLEP, IB, credit by exam and military credits)
Provide information to students and staff on transfer credits.
Monitor and update maintenance of hard copy and computerized academic records as needed.
Adhere to any and all NCAA, Mid-American Conference and Eastern Michigan University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
Perform related departmental duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, interpret instructions, and perform basic arithmetic, typically acquired through the completion of a high school education, is necessary in order to tabulate transfer credits, and maintain hard copy and computerized academic records.
Two years' experience with transfer students is necessary in order to accurately use the various methods and processes of evaluation and recording of academic records.
Knowledge of best practices policies and procedures is necessary in order to provide information to students, staff, and advisors.
Working irregular and flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and some holidays is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
A specific typing speed may be required depending on department needs and it should be noted at time of posting.
Previous experience using Banner Student Information System is desirable.
Familiarity with word processing/computer systems is desirable.
Knowledge of the University's Red Flags Rule and Identify Theft Prevention Policy and Procedure.
