General Summary

The Transfer Partnerships Graduate Assistant (GA) will assist the Director of Transfer Partnerships in daily operations of the department. The GA will be required to work 20 hours on campus in the office between 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. Supervision will be provided by the Director of Transfer Partnerships.

Transfer Partnerships:
The Transfer Partnerships office serves as a liaison between EMU’s faculty, staff, and community college partners. The goal of the office is to facilitate academic agreements that support students being able to transfer credits smoothly. The office works behind the scenes with other departments to assure that students following academic agreements have their records processed accordingly.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Activities and Projects:

  • Draft transfer agreements.
  • Review departmental documentation for accuracy and clarity.
  • Analyze transfer student records to assist EMU faculty and staff to resolve issues.
  • Maintain the department email and phone messages.
  • Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of EMU’s annual Community College Day.
  • Maintain the department website, including updating transfer reports.
  • Organize transfer student data for meetings and report needs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; capable of multitasking effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize time sensitive projects over daily operations tasks.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Google suite.
  • Comfort with learning new software.
  • Previous work in professional office environment.
  • Professional references (2).
