General Summary
The Department of Political Science at Eastern Michigan University invites applications for a full-time lecturer in Comparative Politics and/or International Relations. The new FTL will aid efforts to engage students and work with them on service learning projects, deliver lectures, and classroom instruction.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Teach contractual load of courses as assigned by the department or school.
Assign and submit grades in accordance with established University schedules.
Keep posted office hours during the week which are scheduled at times most beneficial to students.
Provide enrollment data and such other information as corrected class lists, etc. as may be required by the University.
Engage in pursuits that enable them to remain current in their respective disciplines.
Confer periodically with the Department Head/School Director on curriculum and instruction issues.
Provide other support service to the department, college and/or university, if applicable.
Perform related departmental duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of a master’s degree in Political Science or a related field by December 2024 and demonstrate a strong commitment to both teaching, research and service. Area of specialization is open.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferences will be given to expertise in African politics, global justice, and economic equity. Expertise should be demonstrated through graduate transcripts and/or professional experience.
