General Summary

With the guidance of one or more staff or faculty members, perform a mixture of services in support of communication, technology, business operations or student affairs activities as more than 50% of their service. The Staff Graduate Assistant receives a stipend and tuition waiver subject to federal tax.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

● Coordinate with the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing to plan and execute athletics marketing campaigns for fan attendance and community engagement.
● Develop and lead all marketing, fan engagement, and game production for assigned sports.
● Act as secondary on-field marketing coordinator for all Eastern Football games.
● Coordinate the administration and management of Swoop’s Jr. Eagles Kids Club.
● Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Marketing to assist the Eagle Nation student fan group in promoting home athletic events.
● Assist with digital marketing campaigns related to email, social media, and digital advertising.
● Assist with management of the Athletics Marketing Student Internship program.
● Perform related duties as assigned.
● Adhere to any and all NCAA, Mid-American Conference, and Eastern Michigan University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

● A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sports Management, Kinesiology, Communications, Business, or a related field is required.
● Strong interpersonal skills, high energy, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community are required.
● Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, is required.
● Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently is required.
● Understanding and working ability with the Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
● Previous experience with a sports organization is encouraged.

Special Instructions:

Full-time enrollment in an Eastern Michigan University graduate program and compliance with eligibility requirements to serve as a graduate assistant are required.
