General Summary

The School of Nursing is searching for obstetric and medical/surgical part-time lecturers (PTLs) to work with our full-time faculty on an as-needed basis to teach clinical nursing courses.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The primary professional responsibility of the Employee is teaching. Employees are expected to develop and maintain their professional skills in order to ensure high quality education for their students.

Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to their supervisor on request, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules.

Perform related departmental duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; MSN preferred

Active, unencumbered license as a professional nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan

Two years of recent and applicable clinical experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience with teaching clinical and/or undergraduate students is ideal but not required.

Special Instructions:

Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and copy of nursing license.
