General Summary
Responsible for the coordination and assessment of programs and support services developed for students through the Lesbian, Gay Bisexual, and Transgender Resource Center (LGBTRC). Assist with fostering a welcoming and supportive community for students from LGBTQ+ backgrounds. Provide general administrative support for the Office of Access and Opportunity Programs. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge and skills in student development and diversity, equity and inclusion practices, typically acquired through the completion of a master's degree in educational administration, college student personnel, guidance and counseling, or other related field or the combination of education, work experience, and other relevant credentials that enable the performance of all aspects of the position is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, risk management guidelines, issues and concerns specific to the LGBTQ+ student population is required.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills is required.
Demonstrated ability to use basic and some advanced functions of Window and/or Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), the internet and web-based forms is required.
Must be willing to work irregular and flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and some holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least two years of professional, post-graduate work experience planning, organizing and evaluating programs pertaining to social justice in higher education or community organization is desired.
Professional work experience in either an LGBT-related community agency or college LGBT office is preferred, including experience in developing and providing support services, educational programming, advocacy, intervention, mentoring, resources and referrals to the LGBTQ+ community.
Expertise in LGBT-related research and/or LGBT-focused academic work is desirable.
Experience in providing oversight to a program or office, including developing and managing budgets, and supervising staff and/or students.
Working knowledge of research or academic work on diversity or social justice is desirable.
